ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human CD14 molecule (HEK)

  • Specification
  • Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0301
Description
CD14 (also known lipopolysaccharide [LPS] receptor) is expressed strongly on monocytes and macrophages and weakly on the surface of neutrophils. CD14 (1-201 a.a.) is anchored to cells by linkage to glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) and functions as a high affinity receptor for complexes of LPS and LPS binding protein (LBP). Soluble CD14, also binding to LPS, acts at physiological concentrations as an LPS agonist and has, at higher concentrations, an LPS antagonizing effect in cell activation. The myeloid differentiation antigen CD14 acts as the major receptor for bacterial LPS. The dominant form of the recombinant wildtype CD14 is the 50 kDa protein.|Recombinant sCD14 is a 331 amino acid glycoprotein comprising the extracellular portion of the CD14 receptor.
Species

Product Overview
Human CD14 expressed in HEK cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0301-50 (50 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0301-250 (250 μg)
Expression System
HEK cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by HPLC and SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
Determined by the dose dependent activation of NF-kappaB in a RAW264 cell line based reporter system, using a sCD14 concentration range of 20 ng/ul to 200 ng/ul. The NF-kappaB activation is enhanced when the assay is done in the presence of 0.25 ng/ul to 1.0 ng/ul bacterial LPS.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered through a 0.2 micron filter and lyophilized from 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.5).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at –20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
