Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0097
Description
The angiopoietin (Ang) family of growth factors includes four members, all of which bind to the endothelial receptor tyrosine kinase Tie2. Two of the Angs, Ang-1 and Ang-4, activate the Tie2 receptor, whereas Ang-2 and Ang-3 inhibit Ang-1-induced Tie2 phosphorylation. Angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) is a secreted growth factor which binds to and activates the Tie-2 receptor tyrosine kinase. The factor enhances endothelial cell survival and capillary morphogenesis, and also limits capillary permeability. Recombinant human ANG-2 produced in CHO cells is a C-terminal histidine tagged glycoprotein which migrates with an apparent molecular mass of 60.0 – 70.0 kDa by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.

Product Overview
Human ANGPT2 expressed in CHO cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0097-20 (20 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0097-100 (100 μg)
Expression System
CHO cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Determined by its ability to stimulate tubulogenesis in HUVEC cells using a concentration of 0.2 μg/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered through a 0.2 micron filter and lyophilized from 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH 8.0).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu Ang-2 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
