ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Transforming growth factor, beta 1 (CHO)
- Specification
- Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0326
Description
Recombinant Human Transforming Growth Factor-beta 1 (rHu TGF-beta 1) is a member of a superfamily of homologous, disulfide-linked, homodimeric proteins that regulate the proliferation and differentiation of normal and transformed cells. Recombinant Human TGF-beta 1 is a 25.0 kDa protein with each subunit containing 112 amino acid residues.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human TGFB1 expressed in CHO cells
Molecular Mass
25.0 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0326-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0326-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
CHO cells
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50 of TGF-beta1 was determined by its ability to inhibit the mouse IL-4-dependent proliferation of mouse HT-2 cells. The ED50 was found to be ≤ 0.05 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 2 x 10^7 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 months, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu TGF-beta1 should be used immediately or stored long- term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
