CSC-CTK0479
Description
Recombinant Human Nerve growth factor-beta (rHu beta-NGF) is a potent neurotrophic factor, which supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells. The active form of rHu beta-NGF is a dimer, formed by two identical subunits, which is held together by strong hydrophobic interactions. NGF-beta has nerve growth stimulating activity and the complex is involved in the regulation of growth and the differentiation of sympathetic and certain sensory neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, type 5 (HSAN5), and dysregulation of this genes expression is associated with allergic rhinitis. Recombinant human Nerve Growth Factor beta produced in HEK cells is a non-glycosylated non- disulfide linked homodimer with a total molecular weight of 13 kDa. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human NGF expressed in HEK cells
Molecular Mass
13 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0479-20 (20 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0479-100 (100 μg)
Expression System
HEK cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
rHu beta-NGF is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 1.5-8 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted beta-NGF should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0,1% HAS or BSA). Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
