ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Interleukin 6 (interferon, beta 2) (CHO)
- Specification
- Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0234
Description
Human Interleukin-6 (rHu IL-6) is a potent lymphoid cell growth factor, which affects B- lymphocytes, T-lymphocytes and hybridoma cells. It will also affect cytotoxic T-cells in combination with other factors such as IL2 and Interferon-gamma. Recombinant human IL-6 produced in CHO cells is a glycosylated single polypeptide with 185 amino acid residues, migrating at 22 kDa in SDS-PAGE.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human IL6 expressed in CHO cells
Molecular Mass
~ 22 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0234-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0234-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
CHO cells
Purity
Greater than 97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.
Activity
The specific biological activity was determined by a standard cell proliferation assay using the IL- 6-dependent mouse hybridoma cell line B9. The ED50 for this effect is 8-20 pg/ml.
Endotoxin Level
N/A
Formulation
Lyophilized from a protein solution containing PBS (pH 7.4).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized IL-6 should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use. For further dilution, carrier protein (0.1% BSA or HSA) should be added to avoid loss of bioactivity.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu IL-6 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
