ActoFactor™ Recombinant Human Interleukin 2 (E. coli)
- Specification
- Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0216
Description
Recombinant Human Interleukin-2 (rHu IL-2) is a 15.5 kDa protein containing 134 amino acid residues. rHu IL-2 is a potent lymphoid cell growth factor, which exerts its biological activity primarily on T-cells.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human IL2 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
15.5 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0216-50 (50 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0216-250 (250 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by HPLC and SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
IL-2 is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of cell proliferation of murine CTLL-2 cells is less than 0.0645 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 1.5 x 10^7 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
N/A
Formulation
Lyophilized protein with no additives. Lyophilized after extensive dialysis against sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.5).
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted with 20 mM AcOH to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. For further dilution, carrier protein (0.1% BSA or HSA) should be added to avoid loss of bioactivity.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu IL-2 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
