Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0252
Description
Recombinant human IL-13 (rHu IL-13) is an immunoregulatory protein produced by activated T- lymphocytes. The biological activities of IL-13 include the stimulation of B-cell proliferation and immunoglobulin production. rHu IL-13 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide of 112 amino acid residues and a molecular mass of 12.0 kDa.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human IL13 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
12.0 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0252-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0252-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Human recombinant IL-13 is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of human TF-1 cells was ≤ 1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of Greater than 1 x 10^6 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered protein solution in 1 X PBS (pH 7.2) + 5% trehalose.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized rHu IL-13 should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu IL-13 should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
