Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0213
Description
Interleukin-1b is produced by activated macrophages and is a potent immuno-modulator, which mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses including the activation of B- and T-cells. IL-1beta stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1beta is involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as an endogenous pyrogen, and is reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Recombinant Human Interleukin-1 beta (rHu IL-1 beta) produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a molecular weight range of 18-25 kDa due to glycosylation. It has been purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Product Overview
Human IL1B expressed in HEK cells
Molecular Mass
N/A
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0213-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0213-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
HEK cells
Purity
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.
Activity
rHu IL-1 beta is fully biologically active when compared to a standard. The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of mouse D10S cells and is typically 0.02-0.08 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Sterile-filtered, white, lyophilized (freeze-dried)powder. Lyophilized from a concentrated protein solution (1 mg/ml) in 1xPBS.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu IL-1 beta should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
