  • Specification
  • Recommended Products
Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0484
Description
Human Glial Derived Neurotrophic Factor (rHu GDNF) is a 30.4 kDa protein that specifically promotes dopamine uptake and survival of midbrain neurons. rHu GDNF is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting of two identical 135 amino acid chains.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human BDNF expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
30.4 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0484-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0484-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis.
Activity
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent dopamine uptake by rat ventral mesencephalic cultures was found to be in the range of 5-10 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 10 mM NaCitrate (pH=4), 150 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. RHu GDNF should be reconstituted to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into water or other buffered solutions and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted rHu GDNF should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Please avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
