Cat.No.
CSC-CTK0458
Description
Both rHu MIP-1 alpha and rHu MIP-1 beta are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines. They participate in the host response to invading bacterial, viral, parasite and fungal pathogens by regulating the trafficking and activation state of selected subgroups of inflammatory cells e.g. macrophages, lymphocytes and NK cells. While both MIP-1 alpha and MIP-1 beta exert similar effects on monocytes their effect on lymphocytes differ, with MIP-1 alpha selectively attracting CD8+ lymphocytes and MIP-1 beta selectively attracting CD4+ lymphocytes. Recombinant human MIP-1 beta is a single, non-glycosylated 7.62 kDa polypeptide chain containing 69 amino acid residues.
Species
Human
Product Overview
Human CCL4 expressed in E.coli
Molecular Mass
7.6 kDa
Size
CAT# CSC-CTK0458-10 (10 μg); CAT# CSC-CTK0458-50 (50 μg)
Expression System
E.coli
Purity
Greater than 99% as determined by SDS-PAGE, FPLC and RP-HPLC analysis.
Activity
Fully biologically active when compared to a standard. Activity determined by its ability to chemoattract human blood monocytes using a concentration range of 5.0-20.0 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level
Less than 1 EU/μg.
Formulation
Lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml), sterile-filtered solution with no additives.
Reconstitution
Please centrifuge product briefly before opening the vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, ultra-pure water to a concentration of 0,1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at -20°C for future use.
Storage & Stability
The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted MIP-1beta should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
